What does "Loot" refer to exactly?

Wiktionary.org says that it could refer to the plunder or booty collected from a ransacked city.

But BandLoot uses the word loot as a reference to a group's (the band's) common pool of cash, i.e. the cash that is owned by the band and not a single band member. In a word, it's your band kitty :)
